About editing existing text: PDFs store text as positioned letters, not editable paragraphs. “Edit text” covers the original line with its background colour and places your new text on top in a matching standard font. It works well on text-based PDFs; scanned pages have no text to edit, and covered text may still exist inside the file, so don’t use it to redact sensitive information.

Frequently asked questions
Is a signature added this way legally valid?
It is a simple electronic signature — an image of your signature placed on the document. It is accepted for many everyday agreements, but some documents require a certificate-based digital signature or a witnessed signature. Check what your document needs.
Can I ask someone else to sign?
Not with the free tool. Members can send PDFs for signature from their My Object drive: each signer gets a personal link, and the signed PDF includes an audit trail.
Is my signature stored?
No. Your signature exists only in your browser while you edit. When you download, the PDF is processed on our server and deleted automatically.
Do I need an account?
No. You can use the tool without signing up. The PDF tools have no task limit; the PDF Editor allows a few free downloads per day without an account. Members can use the tools as much as they like and save results to their My Object drive.
