How your files are processed

1. You upload a file. It travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our server.
2. It’s processed in a temporary folder that belongs to that one task.
3. The uploaded file is deleted as soon as processing finishes.
4. The result waits for you to download it and is deleted automatically after 30 minutes — or immediately when you click “Delete now”.

Files from the free tools are never added to anyone’s drive, never shared, never used to train AI models and never sent to outside services. If you’re signed in and choose “Save to My Object”, the result is copied to your own drive — that’s the only way a file is kept.

The assistant reads the sentence you type and the names, types and sizes of any files you attach, and chooses a tool. It never opens, reads or changes your documents — the tools above do that, and page counts are checked in your browser. Requests are understood by built-in rules first; if those don’t match, a language model running on our own server may be asked. We record which tool was chosen, not what you typed. Passwords are never sent to the assistant.

• To count free PDF edits we keep a keyed, one-way hash of your IP address for the length of that window — never the address itself.

Anonymous usage statistics help us see which tools work and which fail: the tool, number and total size of files, how long it took, whether it succeeded, the page visited, the referring website’s name, device type, browser, operating system, and a country derived from your browser’s time zone. Visitors are counted with a hash that changes every day, so no one can be followed from one day to the next. We never record file names or contents. These statistics are deleted after 400 days.

No online service is risk-free. We keep the design simple — short-lived files, our own servers, no third parties — so there’s less to go wrong. For highly sensitive documents, consider whether you need to upload them at all; the PDF Editor keeps your edits in your browser until you download.
