About editing existing text: PDFs store text as positioned letters, not editable paragraphs. “Edit text” covers the original line with its background colour and places your new text on top in a matching standard font. It works well on text-based PDFs; scanned pages have no text to edit, and covered text may still exist inside the file, so don’t use it to redact sensitive information.
How to use Edit PDF

Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the text that’s already in my PDF?
Yes, on text-based PDFs. Click Edit text and then a line: the original is covered with its background colour and your new text is placed on top in a matching standard font (Helvetica, Times or Courier). Scanned PDFs are images and have no text to edit.
Will my edits look the same in other PDF readers?
Yes. Text, drawings, highlights and images are written into the page itself, and form fields are standard PDF fields that Adobe Reader, browsers and phone apps understand.
Can I undo changes?
Yes. Undo and redo work for every change — adding, moving, resizing, deleting and page changes — until you download.
What happens to my file?
Your file is processed on our own server in a temporary folder. The upload is deleted as soon as processing finishes and the result after 30 minutes, or straight away when you click “Delete now”. Files are never added to anyone’s drive, used to train AI or sent to third-party services.
Do I need an account?
No. You can use the tool without signing up. The PDF tools have no task limit; the PDF Editor allows a few free downloads per day without an account. Members can use the tools as much as they like and save results to their My Object drive.
