How to merge PDF files
Combining PDFs takes under a minute and doesn’t need any software. Here’s how to do it, and how to get the pages in the right order first time.
Merge PDFs online in three steps
- 1Open the Merge PDF tool.
- 2Choose all the PDFs you want to combine — you can select several at once.
- 3Drag the files into the order you want, click Merge PDFs, and download the result.
Get the order right
Files are combined top to bottom in the list, so arrange them before merging. If a single page ends up in the wrong place, open the result in Reorder pages and drag it where it belongs.
Keep the merged file small
Merging doesn’t recompress anything, so the result is roughly the size of all the files added together. If it’s too big to email, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.
What about password-protected PDFs?
Encrypted PDFs can’t be merged until the password is removed. If you know the password, use Unlock PDF first.
Is it safe to merge PDFs online?
With My Object, files are processed on our own server in a temporary folder, deleted as soon as processing finishes, and results are removed after 30 minutes. Nothing is added to a drive or shared with third parties.
